Community Involvement 2024

At Moore, O’Brien & Foti, giving back to the community we serve is one of our core values. Through our GIVE MOORE initiative, our team volunteers, sits on nonprofit boards, and organizes drives throughout the year — supported by paid time off to pursue the causes they care about most.

Thanksgiving Baskets 2024

Our office donated Thanksgiving baskets to families in the local area who were in need of assistance during the holiday season, as well as donations to Safe Haven. The baskets included essential food items and gift cards to help families enjoy a Thanksgiving meal together. It was a small gesture that we hoped would bring some joy and relief to those facing hardships during the holidays.

We are grateful for our staff, who generously contributed.

Samaritan’s Purse – Operation Christmas Shoeboxes 2024

Brandi’s dedication to serving others shines through her volunteer work with Samaritan’s Purse – Operation Christmas Child. Her compassion and generosity bring joy to children around the world, making a meaningful impact one shoebox at a time. We are grateful for her kindness and commitment to spreading hope!

Wreaths Across America 2024

Our staff was honored to participate in Wreaths Across America today at CT State Veterans Cemetery, paying tribute to those who served our country and those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Toy Drive – Yale Children’s Hospital Toy Closet 2024

This year we held a toy drive at our office to donate to Yale Children’s Hospital Toy Closet. The Toy Closets are stocked with appropriate toys for pediatric patients ranging from infants to teenagers. Each child who is a Yale patient is allowed to select an item from the toy closet. This program relies highly on community donations. We are grateful to our staff and community who contributed.

CTLA Annual meeting 2024

Attorney Moore was a panelist at the annual CLTA meeting, discussing the 70th anniversary of CTLA and its significance to our office, as well as the advantages it offers to all lawyers, especially those new to the field.

CPR 2024

Our office hosted CPR classes for our employees. It was a great opportunity for everyone to learn life-saving skills and be prepared for emergencies in the workplace and in their personal lives. The classes were led by certified instructors and covered basic life-saving techniques. Employees learned how to perform CPR, use an AED, and respond to choking emergencies. The classes were a valuable investment in our employees’ safety and well-being. It’s better to have the skill and not need it, than to need it and not have it.

CTLA - Golf 2024

CTLA organized a golf outing for its members to raise money for charity. Attorneys Garrett Moore, Jr., Brett Gorman, Gordon Goldsmith and Michael Goguen enjoyed their day of golfing together. The event was a success, with participants enjoying the opportunity to network and support a good cause.

Penguin Plunge 2024

Tiana, who is the daughter of our paralegal Amy, has been a Special Olympics athlete and has been for over 10 years. She participates in various sports such as swimming, basketball, bocce, and bowling. We can’t express how grateful we are for this organization and all their volunteers. They put a lot of time, effort, and dedication into these athletes. For example, Tiana’s swim coaches have been a part of Special Olympics for 20 years, along with their families and they are not alone. This a very special community.

This year, some of us here at MOF, along with our families, participated in the Penguin Plunge to raise money for Special Olympics Connecticut, team “Give Moore”. They had a fun day in the icy cold waters!

This team was able to raise $3,580 for Special Olympics Connecticut! We are incredibly proud of them.

Oxford Seymour food bank 2024

August 18, 2024, we all witnessed the devastation that the historical floods caused here in Connecticut, especially in the town of Oxford. One of our many wonderful paralegals, Michele, had come across a flyer for “Oxford Strong” and knew it was something she had to do for the community. Michele got right to work and organized a collection to help the families impacted by the flood. The staff at Moore, O’Brien & Foti were more than ready to support such a great cause. With the amount of food items collected, Michele was able to do two donation drop-offs in a matter of one week.

Thank you once more to Michele for organizing the collection, and to everyone who so kindly donated and made this possible.
